Title: Baby and Car Shopping

Players: Heather O'Leary, Elizabeth Maxwell, and Ryan Rivers

Location: Onyx, California

Synopsis: Heather And Liz go shopping, and Ryan comes out later to help

Heather O'Leary climbs out of the Jeep, holding Amanda. She reaches into the back seat, and says softly to Josh, "Now, remember, you promised to hold Elizabeth's hand all the time." She winks at the little boy.

Josh nods, "Uh huh, or you no buy me toys, wight?"

Heather O'Leary nods, "That's right."

Elizabeth Maxwell smiles at Josh, and offers her hand out to Josh. "You'll be good. I'm sure." She pulls him up into a hug, quickly.

Heather O'Leary leads the way into the closest store that sells Baby Stuff. Oddly enough, it is *called*, Baby Stuff. Interesting, no?

Elizabeth Maxwell glances up at the store, nodding a little and smiling at Heather and to Josh.

Heather O'Leary gets one of those carts with the baby seat in it, and for the first time since she woke up this morning, lets Amanda out of her hands. She looks over at Josh, "You want to sit in a cart too? I'm sure Liz'beth wouldn't mind pushing you around."

Josh just looks at Elizabeth, and smiles. He nods, but is quiet, so he can be 'a good boy'.

Elizabeth Maxwell glances over a little at Heather, laughs, and nods, getting a little cart with a seat in it.

Heather O'Leary smiles at Liz, and leads the way into the store.

Elizabeth Maxwell smiles and laughs, nodding and following right along, pushing Josh in a cart so he can see all that's going on.

Heather O'Leary leads the way to the car seat section, since that is what they need the most.

Elizabeth Maxwell glances over at the seats and nods a little bit, looking them over.

Heather O'Leary shrugs slightly, "Uh... what do we need? I mean... what kinda..."

Elizabeth Maxwell hmms a little bit. "Did you happen to have either of them weighed? Some of them only are to specific weights..." She looks at them. "Others are more generic and go by age."

Heather O'Leary bites her lip, and shakes her head. She looks around for someone that works in this part of the store....

<ResRadio> Heather O'Leary says, "Umm... Ryan? You copy?"

Elizabeth Maxwell glances around as well. "Well, we have them along, you'd think a baby store would have a scale, for checking things like this..."

<ResRadio> Ryan Rivers says, "And paste." Short pause. "That was lame, pretend I didn't say it. What's up?"

Heather O'Leary nods slightly, and is hoping either Ryan knows how to choose one, or that someone will come up and ask if they need help.

<ResRadio> Heather O'Leary says, "I kinda need someone to come into town, and help Liz and I shop... Something you, as a cop, might know something about. Car seats... do you happen... to know how to pick the right one? Could you come help, if you do know how?"

Elizabeth Maxwell laughs and rolls her eyes a little bit at the joke, looking around and hmming slightly, slipping away to the counter, to see if she can get help.

Heather O'Leary watches Liz go, while she waits an answer from Ryan, and looks around, a little helplessly. Odd for one normally so sure of herself.

<ResRadio> Ryan Rivers says, "Well, they usually say the right info on the seats, but yeah, I can help you out with that. Might as well do something constructive with my time and I am actually in town already. Unlike the rest of you, only come out to visit the Ranch when I'm needed. Which is all the time, apparently."

Elizabeth Maxwell smiles a little, slipping up to the main payment counter, and stopping at the attendant. "Excuse me, is there anyone available to assist in the car seat section?"

<ResRadio> Heather O'Leary says, "Umm, Ryan, I didn't mean LA.... I meant Onyx"
<ResRadio> Ryan Rivers says, "...Oh. Well, then, be there in a bit."

Heather O'Leary sighs softly, and looks down at Amanda, "No one wants to help us, do they?" She says in that sweet 'you have no clue what I am saying' voice, that adults use around babies.

The attendant sighs, and shakes her head. "We're a little understaffed right now, I'm sorry. The information should be listed on the sides of the seats..."

<ResRadio> Heather O'Leary says, "OK Ryan... See you soon. We'll get a crib and bed while we wait for you... Those should be easier to pick

<ResRadio> Ryan Rivers says, "...Right."

Elizabeth Maxwell nods a little at the attendant, and sighs herself, ruffling Josh's hair, and rolling the cart back over towards the cribbing and bedding sessions.

Heather O'Leary is there already. Yup, picking out the cutest, and probably most expensive crib there is. All the bells and whistles, well, not whistles, but bells and mobiles, and pads, and all the stuff that insecure people buy for babies to sleep in.

Elizabeth Maxwell figured that Heather was there already, walking up and checking over the cribs, frowning slightly at the crib, and checking it, rolling her eyes. "You do know that if we got a safe, cheaper one, we could probably get toys like that for less, either separately here, or at a chain store or used baby equipment place..." She pauses at that. "Did you think of checking the place with used equipment? It's stuff from people who's kids have outgrown it, usually in good condition..."

Heather O'Leary shrugs, "I like it. It's cute..." Of course, she *is* the insecure person, at least when it comes to her emotions around babies, and such. She wants to feel like she is getting the best, and the best costs the most, doesn't it? It does with Cars, Planes, and Normally, Guns.

Elizabeth Maxwell tickles Heather a little and shakes her head. "How much of that stuff is she really going to notice? I hate to sound like I'm not as nice, but..." She considers, speaking quietly. "I suppose if we take them to the relatives, we don't know if they have any equipment to take care of them either, right?"

Heather O'Leary nods slightly, "Probably not..." She shrugs, and than voices her concerns, "I just want to get the best available..."

Elizabeth Maxwell nods a little bit at that. "I'd be more worried about the safest one, over the one with the most things on it. The more things that are built right onto the crib, the more chance you'll have to throw it away if something breaks, because you can't take it off to keep the crib safe."

Heather O'Leary shrugs, "It says all of them are detachable..." She shrugs, "Which one do you like?"

Elizabeth Maxwell hmms a little bit. "Well, if they're all detachable... whatever you like then. That's important for safety, and if they are, it's good then."

Heather O'Leary nods, and slips the heavy box for the crib under the cart, cause it is made for that. She does this quickly, and moves back to the handle area of the cart to keep an eye on Amanda.

Elizabeth Maxwell smiles and snuggles Heather softly, scritching Josh's hair then.

Heather O'Leary looks at Josh, "What kind of bed do you want, Josh?"

Josh says, "Air Pwane! Air Pwane bed!"

Elizabeth Maxwell laughs a little at that, glancing over towards the bed. "There was a quick decision..."

Heather O'Leary smiles, "Easy too..." She likes that plane bed too, cause, well, she *is* a pilot. "OK Josh, one Air Plane Bed." She pushes the cart over to the box, and looks at Liz, "Bring the cart over, so we can get that underneath." Yes, this store is going to like this group.

Elizabeth Maxwell laughs a little at Heather, nodding, and pulling the cart over to get it underneath. "Okay..."

Heather O'Leary leans against her cart, after loading the bed under Josh, "So, what else. I mean, the car seats and the beds... Ryan's coming to help with the car seats... We could go get some clothes, but... They'd be better quality and priced at a different store."

Elizabeth Maxwell nods a little bit. "Yeah. Clothes would be a lot better priced elsewhere."

Heather O'Leary nods, "So... Want to go look at the Car Seats again, and look helpless?"

Elizabeth Maxwell nods a little bit. "The one at the counter mentioned some staffing problems..." She glances back that way. "Still, most of them list ages, and we know that basically, right?"

Heather O'Leary nods, "Yeah, Josh says he is two, and Amanda is about 6 months, according to the... woman who almost threw her to me..."

Elizabeth Maxwell nods a little bit at that. "Well, that should be good enough to go on, then." She glances over to the seats, hmming slightly.

Heather O'Leary points to one, "That one says it converts from Newborn, to toddler... Might not be bad, for later when Amanda is older...." If she is around, is what Heather fails to mention.

Elizabeth Maxwell nods a little bit. "Yeah, I suppose it would be good for later..." She hmms a little bit and bites her lip, looking at Heather. "So who's going to take care of them when we're at work?"

Heather O'Leary arches an eyebrow, "We?" She smiles sweetly, "I didn't know you had a job." She winks, than sighs, and says softly, "I don't know..."

Elizabeth Maxwell rolls her eyes slightly at the wink, smiling. "considering circumstances, I'd call day care a bad idea..."

Heather O'Leary says softly, "I'm sure we can find someone... there are plenty of people at the ranch all day...."

Elizabeth Maxwell nods a little bit at that, glancing at the seats again, and checking the listings on one. "This one says its for toddlers, 2-4..." She glances it over, and glances over Josh a little bit.

Heather O'Leary nods, "Guess we can get them... When Ryan gets here, he can help us pick out toys or something..."

Elizabeth Maxwell nods a little bit at that, and smiles a bit. "If he gets here before we're done. Toys... hmm. Some toys I'd think fall in the same category as clothes. Cheaper elsewhere."

Heather O'Leary nods, "Pretty much. Well, Ryan can help with the toys and clothes than.... OR I let him negotiate the price on a new SUV for me... I need one of them"

Elizabeth Maxwell laughs a little bit at that, raising her eyebrows. "Hmm... a new SUV?" She laughs a little bit, and bites her lip slightly.

Heather O'Leary nods, "Haven't gotten a vehicle to replace the Truck yet. Need something that can carry a lot of people..."

Elizabeth Maxwell nods a little bit at that. "I know..." She sighs. "I wonder how long before they're going to restrict travel up north, for lack of gas."

Heather O'Leary shrugs, "Bates has a 3 year supply stocked up, for *all* of Los Angeles...."

Ryan Rivers finally pulls up in that yellow Jetta of his. It's not the most pimping ride around, but it gets the job done. Dressed in a simple gray t-shirt and jeans, the cop makes his way into the store the women mentioned, looking around rather uninterested. Not his thing, but well, if he was asked to come...

Elizabeth Maxwell nods a little bit at that. "Oh." She rolls her eyes just a little. "Should have figured."

Heather O'Leary shrugs slightly, "He's a freaky perv... but no one ever said he didn't have brains."

"Perv... Huh?", Ryan blinks a few times as he comes over toward Heather and Elizabeth, just putting his hands behind his head as he does.

Elizabeth Maxwell sighs and shrugs a little bit. "At any rate, the blue jeep was my tag, I'm gonna be working on it, to see if I can get it to work on something else. If I can get it to do so well enough, I can take my design notes up north."

Heather O'Leary glances at Ryan, "We are discussing our boss... Bates." She means hers and Ryan's, since Liz is not employed yet. She smiles at Ryan, and says, "Sorry to call you out here... here are the ones we are thinking about... are they OK for these two?" She motions to two boxes, one holding a Car seat that will convert from Newborn to toddler and another is a toddler seat. Not the booster type, as Josh is a little young for that.

Josh himself waves at Ryan, "He fwiendlie wiff Heaher.." nope, not a typo on Heather's name.

Ryan Rivers looks over the seats, checking the information. "The car seats need to be facing forward at all times... So just remember that since some will let you install them were the kids are facing the back. They seem solid enough though. As long as the kids are in safety seats and the seats are properly secure, that is the important thing..." He pauses from his words to look down at Josh, just gives him a smile and a peace sign. "Hey little guy..." he offers before hrmming to Heather. "Bates? You both?" He just keeps his usual mission pessimistic thoughts to himself, combined with the fact that he really doesn't think it safe for Heather and Elizabeth to be anywhere close to him based on what he has heard and seen. But he knows nothing he says could change that, so he just gives a small snort in response.

Elizabeth Maxwell glances to Ryan and shrugs. "Not me. Hers and yours, I'm assuming." She glances around a little bit, scritching Josh's hair, and looking to Heather. "So it's toys and clothes now, and shopping for the vehicle?"

Josh says, "Whyan? You smile at Heaher... Heaher smile a you... You marry Heaher?"

You got to love the innocence of a 2 year old, right? Heather tries not to choke on that comment from Josh, and clears her throat, to let Ryan answer, "Yeah... That's the plan, Liz'Beth."

"Bates is not my boss," comes the matter of fact response from Ryan. Even if it is true, Ryan refuses to accept it fully, even if he has to take orders from him. He blinks at Josh, smirking as he does. "If I even thought it for a second, I'm sure I would wake up tied up in a ditch somewhere, I'm sure," Ryan offers... Again, in a matter of fact sort of tone. "Either way, just be careful around him, Heather. He might let a lot of things slide, but it is just so can get things his way later on."

Elizabeth Maxwell laughs a little at Josh's comment, glancing between Heather and Ryan and rolling her eyes a little. "I didn't mean directly, Ryan. That's only her." She shivers a little.

Heather O'Leary nods, "I know Ryan... Thanks for the concern though..." She smiles, and her voice is sincere, not sarcastic. She is touched by his concern. She says softly to Josh, "Ryan and I are just friends, little one."

Josh nods, "Oh... Like Mommy and Daddy. They aren't marrie." He pauses, "When I see mommy again? Daddy too?"

Noticing the shiver, Ryan raises an arched brow to Elizabeth, moving toward the sales counter as he figures that is all that is needed right now. "Cold or something, Liz?" Since he is waiting for a response from the Starchild, all he can do is nod to Heather with a small smile... Before giving a quirked brow at the kid. Considering that he is not the designated temp father figure, he just remains silent on that as well.

Elizabeth Maxwell hrmphs a little and shrugs. "No, I'm not cold." She rolls her eyes, and glances back to Josh, frowning to Heather after and sighing very softly out her nose.

Heather O'Leary's eyes dart to Liz, almost as if asking what to say, than she steadies herself, mustn't let the little one know how that question frightens her, "Remember... Mommy and Daddy are sleeping in Heaven? Up with God..." Her eyes dart to Ryan, than Liz, trying to see if she has said the right thing. She isn't lying, not according to her beliefs, but... it is not the easiest thing to explain to a 2 year old.

Josh nods, "OK." He says, rather unconcerned about the answer. God is good. Mommy told him that all the time. God and Jesus keep people safe, so if Mommy and Daddy are sleeping near God, they are safe.

Ryan Rivers just remains rather quiet on the matter with only a slight nod to Heather to show his approval, moving toward the counter as he waits for the two girls to pay for their stuff. He did what he came for after all. As he does though, his gaze seems to rest on Elizabeth for some reason, his head tilted to the side in thought.

Elizabeth Maxwell peers at Ryan a bit, hmming softly. "Uh, what?"

Elizabeth Maxwell scratches her head and glances to Heather a little, sighing slightly.

Heather O'Leary pushes her cart towards the checkout, ready to pay the loads of cash this is going to cost, but hey, what's the point of being paid well, if you don't spend it?

Ryan Rivers shakes his head. "Nothing... Just thinking about... Stuff. Nothing big," he replies as he follows after Heather. "Take it you and Elizabeth are flipping the bill for the kids?"

Heather O'Leary nods to Ryan, "Well, I am. I can afford it. You heard what Bates is paying me, right? 150 K a year, plus the combat pay I get from the Marines, and well...."

Elizabeth Maxwell laughs a little bit at Ryan and Heather, nodding a little at the latter. "Wow." she grins a little at Heather and snuggles, glancing around then and smiling.

Ryan Rivers just nods, moving toward the door as he pulls out his keys from his pocket. "Well, I am going to be leaving... Unless you guys want me for something else."

Heather O'Leary shrugs, "You are welcome to come with us.... We just have some shopping to do.. and I hate haggling for new cars...."

Elizabeth Maxwell nods a little bit and smiles. "we'd love to have you along, if she hates haggling for cars, I might have to try doing it if you aren't there."

"Well, if you two don't mind me around, I guess I could tagalong," Ryan offers with a slightly nervous chuckle, idly toying with his keys.

Heather O'Leary smiles, "Well, just think of it... I work for Bates, you are LAPD.. think they will try to rip us off?"

Elizabeth Maxwell laughs at that, rolling her eyes, and stepping back to just take care of Josh, smiling all the while.

"Hey, depends on the car dealer. Law and haggling are two different things, Heather," the cop offers with a smirk as he moves toward his car, keeping the door open for the two ladies to step through when they are ready to leave.

Heather O'Leary signs the credit card slip, not really paying attention to how much it costs. "Help us set the Car seats up in the Jeep?"

Elizabeth Maxwell glances between Ryan and Heather, and smiles. "We should probably all take the Jeep shopping anyway, saves the wear and tear on the Jetta. I'll ride in the back seat with the kids, if we do..."

"Well, they shouldn't be that much of a deal to set up. I mean, it is pretty much slide the seat in. Though I guess one car would make sense," Ryan offers, waiting patiently at the door. "Though you sure, Liz? I can take shotgun if you prefer... Matters not to me."

Heather O'Leary says softly to Liz, "You drive dear.... I'll baby-sit the little dears."

Elizabeth Maxwell shakes her head a little at Ryan, smiling, then pausing and erming at Heather. "The back seat of the Jeep won't fit anyone big with two car seats in it... I'm probably the only one small enough to fit in with em...' She glances to Heather meaningfully then.

From afar, Elizabeth Maxwell's voice pops up in Heather's mind, then. "Besides, it looks more properly like a family that way, with husband, wife, and the three kids in the back."

Ryan Rivers just pauses at the meaningful look, taking that as something is up. Since he has no clue as to what that is, he just points to the jeep. "Um, I'll wait by the Jeep for you two," he offers to be on the safe side as he makes his way as he toward the vehicle as he puts his keys away.

Heather O'Leary bites her lip, cause Liz did something bad. But she than, can not help laughing, "Alright *daughter* You sit in the back... Although, when I had you, I was.. 12?" She glances at Ryan and says to him, "She's being naughty. Spank her for me would you?" Especially considering, with what Elizabeth put in her head would make Ryan only 5 when she was born at Elizabeth's apparent age.

Elizabeth Maxwell laughs hard at that point, slipping for the car with Josh and looking at Heather, then smiling sweetly over to Ryan at Heather's last comment.

Ryan Rivers just blinks in utter confusion. Sadly the young man is no telepath, so he gives a rather resigned look, figuring that he is just destined to forever be confused in this group. His father would tell him it builds character and keeps him on his toes. Ryan just tells himself that maybe one day he'll get used to life in California... The cops, Bates, the Resistance, the works. He tries to play along as best he can though. "I guess I could... Though knowing you two, she might like it," he says with a small smirk that covers his thoughts on the matter rather well.

Heather O'Leary laughs, "Oh, with how she was thinking into my mind, she *wants* a spanking." She pushes the other cart over to the Jeep. "One day, Elizabeth... I will get revenge!"

Elizabeth Maxwell laughs and tickles Heather. "Well, of course I want a spanking." She grins at Ryan. "And of course I would like it." She laughs a little harder then, slipping to the jeep, and checking the child seats. "Lesse... set these up in the middle and behind the passenger seat, then I'll get in behind Heather."

Ryan Rivers just shakes his head at the pair of girls and figuring he knows what is to come. "Just don't distract the driver while she's driving," Ryan reminds Elizabeth as he puts his keys away and waits to be let in on the passenger side. He doesn't ask about the thinking into her mind... Despite the fact that he knows nothing on the Starchild's ability. All he knows that Liz is the Starchild, and apparently the Visitors' make that a big deal.

"She'll be good... Or I'll withhold spankings." Is Heather response as she hands Elizabeth the little girl, Amanda. "Make sure she is secure, right?"

Elizabeth Maxwell laughs a little bit at Ryan and raises her eyebrows at him. "Oh, I won't distract her... too much." she grins at Heather then, raising her eyebrows and still laughing a little. "Aww, withholding spankings? Oh honey..." She nods a little, taking the little girl, and latching her properly into the child seat, smiling and gently stroking her chin as she does. Then she checks Josh, and makes sure he's strapped into his child seat properly, before settling back into her own. "There we are..."

Ryan Rivers continues to wait calmly, merely opening the door and climbing in when Heather unlocks his door, just shaking his head with a slight chuckle for whatever reason. Nothing special here.

Heather O'Leary moves around to the back of the Jeep, and loads up the two beds. Good thing the next stop is the Ford Dealership, or maybe the Dodge Dealership. Something big, something that will transport a bunch of people, and something she can customize, if she needs another vehicle like her old truck. The doors are all unlocked, and she climbs in, "So, Ryan... How are things in LA?"

Elizabeth Maxwell settles in and straps her seat belt on, making sure to reach up and tickle Heather's sides a little, and kiss her neck, before the car starts off, grinning. "I'm sure the car dealer will think you two look like a cute couple."

Ryan Rivers just reddens faintly, though to cover it up, moves toward the sound system of the Jeep, seeing what CDs or such are available. "We'll see..." is all he offers to Elizabeth before shrugging to Heather. "Nothing much... I mean, I deal with most of the everyday stuff. I don't see Bates too often and even Visitors I only see in the parts of town where they have a lot of stuff for the most part. I mean, I deal with a mugging here and there, but nothing really worth noting. Had a homicide awhile ago, but since I'm not a detective, just corded off the crime scene and stuff."

Heather O'Leary nods, "Do you want to be a detective?" She glares back through the mirror at Liz, but refrains from comment, looking at Ryan.

Elizabeth Maxwell smiles at Heather in the mirror, then glances over at Ryan as well, raising her eyebrows. "Well... depending, aren't detectives in less direct danger, much of the time? It would mean being out of the first line of defense that gets shot at when immediate trouble happens, yes?"

"I dunno... I mean, part of me wants to move up... Be able to have more power to help out... Both to the Resistance and people in general. The only problem is the higher up I go... The more I will have to deal with Bates. Maybe in time I'll get used to him or something," the police officer replies. "And as for what the detective does? Not exactly. I mean, they often go to people for questioning and stuff like that. I tagged along once here and there, just to see what it was like. And when you try and question someone and they end up being a nut job or an extreme gang member from South Central... It can get a little wild."

Heather O'Leary says softly, "Instead of Bates, it would be me you'd have to deal with more... I could probably arrange to get you your Gold shield, if you wanted it... if it wouldn't feel like you didn't earn it..." She starts the jeep up, and pulls out of the parking lot, afraid to look at Ryan, fearing to see his anger at being offered something, that he might not feel he earned.

Elizabeth Maxwell smiles at that, raising her eyebrows and settling into the back seat, watching the kids quietly, staying out of that conversation.

Angry? While Ryan gets easily annoyed at times, someone trying to give him the assist is usually not something he gets mad over. Still, he doesn't accept though he does have a small but sincere smile about him. "Nah... I'll be fine. There is enough corruption going on without me getting hand outs. Thanks for the thought though. If I get promoted though, I want it to be for doing the job and the right thing. While it might be a vain dream, I want to show there can still be honest law in LA... Or as someone TRYING to be honest, which is more than I can say for most of the officers there," Ryan admits with a sigh, messing a bit with the radio.

Heather O'Leary nods slightly, "Well, I am trying to get rid of as much of the corruption as possible.. there will be a few Gold Shields opening up." She turns the Jeep in the direction of the Ford Dealership, which is just up the road, thankfully. "I'm also reviewing files of the LAPD, looking for the right people to fill the jobs. In this case, I think I could promise an honest promotion for deserving Cops...." She pauses, and shrugs, "If you know of any, let me know." At least, she will be doing what she can, as long as Bates allows it.

Elizabeth Maxwell smiles at that, settling in. "I'm sure a lot of the cops will be happy to see sanity and fairness restored."

"Well, as I said... I am just trying to do the right thing and move through the right channels. If I really earned it in the year or two I've been here, than so be it. If not, that's fine too. Considering how my life here as been, just been kinda aimless in terms of goals and stuff. Living more day to day," Ryan offers with a shrug.

Heather O'Leary smiles, "Well, hopefully the Resistance has provided you some goals....?" She turns the jeep into the dealership, and pulls into a parking spot.

Elizabeth Maxwell smiles and watches for the dealership, setting back in her seat and getting comfortable as she does, not wanting to disturb the two for a while.

Ryan Rivers nods to Heather. "Yeah... Shoot things... Don't get shot. Try to make sure people don't die unless they are evil Visitors." A sad commentary, but a true one. "In any case, enough about that... What are we looking to buy here?"

Heather O'Leary shrugs, "Something to replace my Truck.. the one that went boom. I'm thinking something big... An SUV perhaps... In case I need to move a lot of people..." Not to mention, plenty of safety for the kids, whose future has yet to be decided.

Someone is lying to herself, because she has decided where the kids will be, but she won't admit it to anyone, just yet, not even herself.

Ryan Rivers nods as he steps out of the car. "Right... I'll see what I can do then," Ryan offers with a sigh. He just starts looking around, regardless if Elizabeth or Heather come with him, just moving toward some of the cheaper SUVs, the used ones in the lot.

Elizabeth Maxwell unstraps herself from the vehicle, to get out and look as well, glancing to Heather. "Used or new? I'll drive the Jeep, if we get one."

Heather O'Leary shrugs, "Why get something someone else has used? With what Bates is paying me, I can afford a new one...."

"I know what I am doing... Just wait for the guy to come. If you want new or used... We wait here," Ryan offers with a small smirk, clearly knowing what he is going here. "Now, what exactly to we want... Make up your minds now... Will make it easier for me to haggle," Ryan offers confidently, looking for the sales rep the entire time.

Heather O'Leary says softly, "New."

Elizabeth Maxwell laughs at Ryan. "Well, It's Heather's call on all of it, she's the one who wants it and will be driving it... How big a one are you wanting? Mid sized or huge?"

Heather O'Leary shrugs slightly, "I think pretty big... We may need to move a lot of people, if we are ever discovered, and move quickly..."

Ryan Rivers hrms. "Well, we could get a V8 Suburban... Might want to try a souped up truck too if you don't mind a lack of seats."

Elizabeth Maxwell hms a little bit. "They don't have Suburbans here, it's a Ford dealer." She glances over. "Don't they have a version of it, though?"

Heather O'Leary nods slightly, "Excursion, or something like that..."

"Well, sometimes they do have used stuff from other car manufactures... Which is why I was looking here... Either way, whatever you guys want," Ryan offers with a shrug.

Elizabeth Maxwell nods a little at Ryan and shrugs. "Well, she wanted a new one, so..."

Heather O'Leary nods slightly, "Yeah... New." She glances back, and sees that the two kids are sleeping. Not surprising with Amanda, but they might have to carry Josh around for a bit.

Ryan Rivers sighs, taking awhile to run various cars in his mind. Sadly, SUVs and stuff aren't his thing. Muscle cars and stuff are what most of his friends talked about. Trucks and stuff like? Usually reserved for the people outside DC. "Well, looks like they have a V10 Ford Excursion..." he says as he looks around, just peering from car to car with a rather bored look to him.

Elizabeth Maxwell laughs a little bit at that, looking over at it. "V10 Excursion. Wow. Is that measured in miles per gallon, or gallons per mile, for gas?"

Heather O'Leary bites her lip, "When... when do we get out and look, and test drive, and than, buy and go home?" She realizes she is the only one left in the car, and oops, damn... she blushes, than gets out of the Jeep.

Ryan Rivers shrugs. "Well, if you guys aren't really caring about money, I think we could just go up there... Say we want it for 35k, and tell him the discount should be done since we plan to pay it all in one net sum. Sound good to the pair of you? As for the gas mileage... You guys wanted power and size. That's the just the trade off you'll have to deal with, that's all."

Heather O'Leary nods, "If they'll take 35K for it, I'll have the bank wire the money over the phone..."

Elizabeth Maxwell laughs a little bit and nods, shrugging. "I figured. I was at least partly kidding. Thing probably has a huge gas tank." she pauses a little. "You checked the sticker yet?"

Ryan Rivers hrms and looks over it. "This is about 38,800... Yeah, definitely can get 35,000 for it is unless he is a real pain in the butt about it. Make a good quick deal... And if he doesn't take it... We just leave. That easy." He likes his idea... Since he figures it is their best shot. And easiest. He looks around for the guy in charge, sighing as he does the waiting game thing.

Elizabeth Maxwell hms and nods. "Yeah, I suppose so. Especially someone paying cash up front, I'm sure that'll make a good difference."

Heather O'Leary nods slightly, "OK... Whatever you think best, Ryan."

Ryan Rivers just nods and waits some more. He looks at the car rather intently, just waiting for a sales rep to 'take notice' and rush out. At least that is the game plan anyway. If not, he might actually have to go in there and hash out the deal himself.

Heather O'Leary stands near Ryan, holding Amanda. She coos at the little girl, and says softly, "Unca Ryan can't get a salesman?"

A salesperson hurries out to them as they finally see someone in the lot. A customer! The woman is elated to see a customer into the dealership, running right over to the small group. "Hello there! Looking into buying a vehicle?"

Offering a large smile, the cop just gives a shrug. "Yeah... I was. You see..." He then realizes that Heather is going to be making the buy. Crap, have to link himself with her or the salesperson will just want to talk with her about it. "My girlfriend and I were looking about buy a new car," Ryan puts his arm around Heather, making it seem like Amanda is their own. Of course, considering how he wanted the kids to go to the child services, hopefully he won't get the stare of death from Elizabeth. "I really want to be honest with you... We have only saved up about 35 thousand... Almost enough to get this really nice SUV here, but I was hoping we could work out getting it for a discount if we paid upfront. We got a deal for a car like this online for that price, but we would rather buy it in person if possible. If you can't do that, well, I suppose we will have to bite the bullet and get the deal elsewhere, you know what I mean?"

Elizabeth Maxwell bites her lip, and tries to remain quiet in the back, not wanting to laugh or do anything that would draw any attention.

Heather O'Leary just smiles sweetly, as Ryan wraps an arm around her shoulder. She is such a sweet looking girlfriend, and adds, "Yes, and I need to be able to drive my sister, and her little boy around." She considers, something, than just smiles. Best to not tell the lady that she works directly for Bates, might foul the deal.

The woman's eyes widen just a little at that, and she looks around the SUVs. "We haven't actually sold one of these in months..." She puts her hand on the XLT being looked at, trying to think. "Have you looked at the Eddie Bauer or Limited editions? Because we need to get them off the lot, somehow, I might just be able to swing one of them for 35. Or the XLT for somewhat less, if you would rather."

Heather O'Leary looks at Ryan, and smiles, "See Sweetie, I told you they would be able to help us." She looks at the Sales Lady, "What is the differences between the two?"

Ryan Rivers nods to Heather, looking toward the Sale Lady. "We are just starting a family here... We wouldn't want anything too fancy like leather seating or the like anyway. Just something rugged and effective." Ryan figures if the car will be used for missions... Cheaper is better anyway. Guilt is less to bleed on cloth seats rather than leather ones.

The woman smiles, nodding a little bit. "Well, the upper editions have equipment standard which is only optional on the lower models. The Limited has all the options available for the vehicle. It's as good as a Lincoln Town Car, just that it seats 7 and can haul lots of luggage."

Heather O'Leary bites her lip, liking the idea of special equipment, than shrugs, "Up to you Sweetie... you know more about Cars."

Ryan Rivers shakes his head. "No... We just want the bare bones... More so if we can get that deal." Besides... If Heather really has military hook-ups, she might be able to get military GPS and things like that put in. Which would be a lot better than the private stuff they usually put in vehicles.

The woman droops a tiny bit, but nods a little, looking over the XLT. "If you're wanting a base model, do you want XLT or lower XLS? The XLS is less the least expensive of the models, I could probably get it to you for 28 thousand.

Heather O'Leary nods slightly, "The XLS has the same capacity, right? If so, we could definitely use the rest as a down payment for a house, Ryan, sweetie."

The woman nods, and smiles. "It has the same capacity, with the V10, yes. I'll just need you to fill out the paperwork..."

Ryan Rivers noddles to Heather. He is about to say something to Heather when suddenly... His cell starts ringing. "If you hold on for a moment...." With that, he just walks off, putting his cell to his ear. "Hey... What's up, Chansky? ....No. You have /got/ to be kidding me. I sent in that report before I left? System crash? By who... You don't know. Great... Yeah, yeah... I will get to it. But I can get to the station right now. Can you type it for me while tell you what to type? Please? Man... after I saved your ass when you got drunk at Stank's... Thought so." Looks like this might be awhile.

Heather O'Leary nods, "I can do that." She looks at Ryan, and smiles, "You take care of Sissy, won't you?" She motions to Liz, and than thinks hard at Liz, o O (Take Josh and leave me the Car seat for Amanda... Take Ryan back to his car?)

Elizabeth Maxwell nods a little at Heather, and scoops Josh up, slipping over to Ryan.

Ryan Rivers just tilts his head over to Elizabeth in case she wants to say something to him, still talking on the phone. Seems to be describing a gang violence incident or the like.

Heather O'Leary follows the saleslady inside, "I'll need to call the bank, to get them to wire the money into your account... shouldn't take long at all." She decides to use one of her aliases to buy the SUV. She holds Amanda up and says softly, "Mommy and Daddy get a new car, just for you...."
