Ramalon is a sacred Visitor tradition among the warrior caste or the Sirians. It is an act of Government sponsored cannibalism, in which the youngest member of a Mother Ship, a Ground Base, or even just a squad is offered up as a sacrifice to the rest of the group to be eaten. Officers are only allowed to eat Officers, while Enlisted Personnel are only allowed to eat enlisted personnel.
The Feast of Ramalon is considered barbaric by most non-warriors, as a throwback to the days where there was a religion among the Sirians. The sacrifice of the youngest is supposed to imbue the Sirians who eat the sacrifice with the chosen one's warrior spirit.
Ramalon happens once every 5.3 Earth years, during every 5th celebration of the Sirian New Year.
